National News: A soldier was killed in the early hours of Saturday in the ongoing campaign against terrorists in the Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. The army and police started a late-night campaign to search for terrorists in the Kanji Nala area on the Doda-Udhampur border. Meanwhile, a soldier was seriously injured in an encounter with the terrorists. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but died during treatment.

Encounter started on Friday night

According to officials, on Friday evening, security forces surrounded the area after getting information about the presence of terrorists in remote forests of Doda-Udhampur. The terrorists were in touch at around 8 pm, after which firing started from both sides.

Due to the dense forest and bumpy area, challenges in the campaign increased. A soldier was injured during the encounter and was admitted to the nearest military hospital at night.

White night core statement

The White Night Core informed on its official X account that the campaign was launched on the basis of intelligence information. The post said, "At around 8 pm on the night of 19 September, vigilant soldiers established contact with the terrorists, after which the firing took place."

Later update: it was clarified that the exact place of the encounter is the Doda-Udhampur border. Written in the post, "The campaign site is the Doda-Udhampur border. The operation is still on."

Search operation continues in the area

After the encounter, security forces sealed the entire area. A joint team of army, police and paramilitary forces is searching from house to house in the area. Officials say that many terrorists are feared to be hiding in the region, so the operation has been intensified.

The local people have been appealed to to be vigilant and immediately inform the security forces about suspicious activities. According to officials, the operation will continue until the area is completely freed from the terrorists.
